Setting the course
In 1957 Rudi Göbel founded Rudi Göbel GmbH in Oberkotzau. The skilled toolmaker established tool making as core element in the company, metal and plastic processing was added. Göbel became very quickly well-known for its high-quality stamping parts and tools outside the region and it acquired well-known customers in the consumer sector such as for example Loewe and Metz.
1957
Relocation to Helmbrechts
Rudi Göbel expanded and relocated to a bigger production area in the Max-Planck-Straße. Very soon after its foundation Rudi Göbel expanded and relocated to the bigger production facilities in the Max-Planck-Straße 22. Four new production halls were built at the new location; they were tailored to the needs of the company.

1962
Structural and machinery expansion
To be technically up to date, has always been the motto of mister Rudi Göbel and our leitmotiv. The first big expansion took place nine years after the foundation of the company. We expanded in buildings and machinery in order to increase our manufacturing capacities and to introduce plastic processing..
1966
Continuation of the company by Alwine Göbel
After the sudden death of Rudi Göbel, his wife Alwine overtook the management for several years. She was helped by Heinz Wagenknecht and several operation managers.. 20 years after the foundation of the company Rudi Göbel dies suddenly and unexpectedly. Frank Pichler joins the company
1986 is the year of changes, Franz Pichler, skilled lathe operator, succeeds Alwine Göbel and paves the way for the continuation of the company. Armed with experience, pioneering spirit as well as his expert knowledge of plastics and tools, he overtakes the management of the company and its meanwhile 50 employees. As first measure he undertakes a comprehensive restructuring which presents the basis of today's company. He enlarges the existing production area by overbuilding the areas between the halls. Plastic processing is expanded and he invests in machines with higher locking forces.
1986
A milestone in surface refinement
EMC evaporation is developed, patented and ready for mass production. This was considered to be a "revolution", since at that time it was necessary to build cost-intensive, heavy metal cages in order to ensure electronic shielding. The evaporation of plastic parts coated with aluminum in thick layer process is now possible.
1991
Frank Pichler joins the company
After graduating from the RWTH University of Aachen with an engineering degree, Frank Pichler succeeds his father in managing the company. During his studies, he was significantly influenced by two internationally renowned experts in the field of plastics processing namely, professor Menges and his successor professor Michaelis. Thanks to his expertise he succeeds in implementing innovations and in optimizing processes.
1993
Changing the active management
Frank Pichler succeeds his father in the active management. After three years of intensive introduction in all the divisions, Frank Pichler overtakes the active part of the management. His father Franz Pichler continues to work in the "background". In the meantime the company has already over 160 employees.
1995
Expanding the manufacturing range
Already in 1994 hybrid manufacturing was part of the range of services offered by the company. It developed into an important pillar of Göbel. One special feature here was the use of modern rotary table injection molding machines using tools with two ejection sides. The injection is made vertically from above in the back side. The finished parts can be removed from the second ejection side and can be fitted with inserts while the machine is in operation. . The result is a very regular cycle and a reduction in cycle times.
1996 - 2000
On growth track with Promotool
Takeover of the Austrian tool and mold making company Promotool GmbH. Thanks to the integration of the Austrian tool and mold making company Promotool GmbH into the family-owned enterprise, we succeeded in expanding our tool making capacities and in responding with even more flexibility to the increased international demand.
2004
Doubling production capacities
Rudi Göbel undertakes further investments to expand the site and its machinery. During the same period an invest in the Blewa Metallverarbeitung company located in Schleiz, was acquired.
2008
Takeover of GEK GmbH
Expanding mold making and injection molding capacities by purchasing GEK GmbH, a long-standing company in Saxon, located in Oelsnitz. Founded in 1874, its precision injection mold and plastic components stand for German quality, reliability and innovation worldwide.
